Father in line for payout after skiing accident
A father who was seriously injured in a skiing accident is in line to win a significant payout, it has emerged.
Graham Anderson took legal action after a family holiday to Puy St Vincent - a purpose-built ski resort in the French Alps - ended in him losing control while travelling down a slope off piste and hitting a tree.
The 46-year-old was left tetraplegic as a result of the impact.
He took legal action against his instructor, accusing him of being negligent.
During a recent hearing at London's high court, Mr Justice Foskett ruled that the instructor should have realised that the slope was too advanced for Mr Anderson.
The amount he is to receive in compensation will be decided at a later date.
Speaking after the verdict, Mr Anderson said: "It was an accident that should never have happened. The resulting spinal cord injury has left me severely paralysed with extremely limited levels of function."
