Man wins over £400k as a result of road accident

news image A man who was seriously injured in a road accident has secured a payout of more than £400,000.

According to a BBC report, Lee Nicoll was driving a campervan through Redford village in the council district of Angus on the east coast of Scotland in June 2001 when the collision occurred.

A trailer became detached from a tractor that was passing him and travelled into his path.

The 61-year-old former textile designer was trapped in his vehicle for two hours and had to be resuscitated.

Despite undergoing major surgery and months of physiotherapy, Mr Nicoll has been left unable to straighten his leg and he suffers from knee and back pain.

In addition, he will need a knee replacement in three years and he is no longer able to work.

During a recent hearing at the court of session in Edinburgh, temporary judge Morag Wise awarded him £410,125 plus interest to cover his suffering and lost earnings.
