Mothers of children allegedly injured in theme park to sue

news image Three mothers who claim that their children were injured during a visit to a theme park are seeking compensation from its owners.

According to reports in the Glasgow Sunday Mail, the women allege that the youngsters hit safety bars on the Big Apple caterpillar ride when it jolted to a sudden halt at M&D's, which is located in Strathclyde Country Park near Motherwell.

Natalie Stark says she took her two-year-old daughter to hospital with a black eye and a burst lip.

In addition, Liz Wilson claims that her daughter of the same age had a swollen eye, cut lip and neck strain, while Margaret Gillies says that her child, who was four, suffered a bruised cheek and an eye injury.

Ms Wilson said: "We felt like we'd been in a car crash. It was going full pelt then there was a bang and we smashed forward into the bar."

Meanwhile, M&D's said: "The matter has been passed on to our insurers."
