Paralysed ex-serviceman seeks compensation after accident

A former serviceman is seeking compensation of up to £6 million after he was left paralysed from the neck down, it has been revealed.

Robert Uren fractured three vertebrae in his neck when he slipped during a team game.

The 24-year-old, who served as an Royal Air Force technician, was diving into an inflatable pool to collect plastic fruit when he lost his footing.

As a result of the injuries he sustained, he has been left unable to walk, suffers severe spasms and is confined to a wheel chair.

Mr Uren is taking legal action against the Ministry of Defence (MoD) and Corporate Leisure - which provided the inflatable games and claims to have completed over 4,000 corporate events across the world.

Speaking to the Daily Mirror, he said: "I feel both the MoD and event organisers were to blame for the way in which they encouraged me and others to take part in what proved to be a very dangerous game."
